Born in 1979, Matteo Belfiore is an Italian architect and researcher based in Tokyo, with over 20 years of experience. He holds the title of Knight of the Order of the Star of Italy for his contributions to architecture. After earning a Master’s in Architecture (2005) and a Ph.D. (2010) from the University of Naples “Federico II” he moved to Japan, where he worked with Kengo Kuma, Nikken Sekkei, and Richard Bliah Associates. In 2017, he founded MB-AA in Tokyo, focusing on innovative, flexible design that integrates western and eastern culture, tradition, and cutting-edge research.
